If you want to know Sovata better, you can go through a route that surrounds the lakes of the resort to reach the Salt Mountain. The Salt Mountain is a natural reserve of geological type in Praid, Harghita County. It has an area of 60 hectares and includes the Salt Hill, which covers the largest natural salt deposit in Romania.

Rehabilitated recently, the steam train runs again on the Sovata – Câmpu Cetății route. In addition to the pleasant trip it offers, the train is itself a historic tourist destination. The steam train departs daily from Sovata train station at 10, 13, 17 and 19 o’clock. The duration of a trip is 1h and 45 min.

The recreational base is located at the Horizon 50 Gallery, which is 120 meters deep from the surface. The transportation of the visitors is done by the buses of the Mine at a distance of 1250 mmeters, from the entrance to the recreational base. At Lake Tivoli, you can rent rowing boats. This is the only lake in Sovata where boat access is allowed. It is set in a picturesque natural setting, about 2 km away from Lake Bear and can be reached by asphalt road or pedestrian walks around Lake Bear.

The Equestrian Center was opened in 2015. Those who get here, besides riding, can also try the archery. Specialists deal with those who want to learn to ride, but offer hippotherapy, animal comfort, mobility development and there are also camping possibilities. On an area of 3.5 hectares live 8 horses, of which one pony, two foals and a horse for the chariot in the farm. 4 horses are used for riding.
